My Home Office Space

It's June 2nd and that means that I am linking up with Ashley and Angie for their monthy #2getherwearebetter blog linky! I am a little obsessed in love with these ladies because they are one, fabulous teachers and two, they are in my grade level!!!

Before you begin this is a little warning that this is NOT going to be a model teacher-home office. I have been putting off really decorating it because my husband and I would like to move from our town house to a single family home in the next few months, so I figured... why go all out?! Then Ashley and Angie decided to have this linkup and that really messed my plan up! That's ok, though! I can't wait to see all of the other at-home offices and get some amazing ideas for our next home!!!

This is it folks! I can hear the ewing and ahhhhing through the screen! Who spots the two dog necessities in this photo? It's like a where's Waldo Shilah! My home office isn't complete without a few necessities that I really wanted to show off! Here goes...

First, my paper tray in my all-time favorite color is a must have! I love keeping my pencil cup, sticky notes handy at all times. Behind it, you can see the matching stapler and tape dispenser. I also have these things at my real life office - AKA classroom.
Speaking of the pencil cup, here it is up close. I wanted to show you my favorite nail file that I keep right next to my computer for encouragement. Yes, that sounds a little silly... I KNOW! But I find encouragement in positive sayings and I try to have them around me when I can!

Next to my desks are these wire baskets. They are another favorite part of my home-office. Right now there isn't too much to them, but I think they look pretty!
Last year for my birthday my best friend got me posters from my favorite show, Game of Thrones! I knew these also had to go in my office! I love me some GOT

I knew I had to show this off too. It's Shilah's cookie jar. When I am in the office she likes to follow me there for some reason... maybe it's because it's where all of the magic happens outside of the classroom! So, Shilah's got to have her cookies here! I guess it's better than me having cookies in here!
And since Shilah was here while I was taking photos, here's one of her.

I really hope you liked getting a sneak peak inside of my home-office where I get to plan and prep for my second graders. I love creating materials here, as well as connecting with other teachers by blogging and visiting other blogs! I can't wait to check out the other classrooms in this linky!

Oh, and if you have any ideas for my next home-office, please comment! This girl needs all the help I can get!

  1. Your home office is cute and I love your wire baskets on the wall. Now I am curious to know what your home office will look like in your new home! And, how sweet is it that you have dog treats for your beautiful dog in your office! Ha! Ha! Thanks for linking up with us! I can't wait to meet you in Vegas!

  2. I'm glad Shilah made an appearance on today's post! Hope you do get to move soon, too.

  3. I love the wire baskets! Treats in the office...Lacey would love that!

  4. I love those baskets! Don't worry, my office is my dining room table!! I didn't even take pictures of my upstairs office because it isn't really used!! Once you move into your new home I'm sure you'll set up your new office and be inspired by all of the amazing offices in the link up!!

  5. Hi Melissa! I love that you posted pictures of Shilah! She is beautiful and looks like a great assistant. That's so sweet that you leave her cookies with you so she has a treat. Roger does the same thing but he works beneath my kitchen island chairs hoping for some scraps of my snacks to drop. Fur babies are the best =)

  6. Love that Shilah totally runs every room in your house! Someday I will need to come visit you and see your office in person :)

  7. You might not have your dream office space yet but I can tell you are very organized! Your dog is truly beautiful, too!

  8. Your office is beautiful. I love it! It looks very organized and the colors are great! Plus, I love that your furry friend hangs out with you. I can relate, as I sit in my office typing this, my dog Mario is laying next to me! ;)

  9. Congratulations on having the ability to work at home. Personally, I can't. I need space that is not in the house or I get distracted by a thousand different things. I try to find somewhere away from home but I do not get to have the beautiful setup that you do. Everything looks great. For the next one I would personally enjoy painting the walls a different color. Good luck!
