Mrs. Dailey's School Schedule

Have you heard about Ashley and Angie's #2getherwearebetter linkup? I just love following these 2 FAB teachers so I can't wait to take the linkup journey with them! The linkup with be on the 2nd of every month! Being a second grade teacher, and huge fan of these ladies, this makes my heart so happy!

At the beginning of each year, our principal and head teachers of the building give us a schedule that shows us our language arts and math block. But... I do have to say how lucky we are because we are able to decide when we teach specific concepts and skills. For example, when I teach writing isn't dictated. As long as I teach it within my language arts block in the morning, I am trusted to teach it when I want.
My classroom schedule stays the same unless we have an assembly, field trip or other special activity. I also post the schedule next to our classroom calendar so that my students know what to expect.

These are some of the programs that my district uses currently. Next year, we will be transitioning out of Investigations to a different program. For science, our district has a curriculum that teachers in the district made and dedicated a long time to aligning the lessons to our state standards. I am also very lucky that my district welcomes us to supplement as we want in certain areas. I think this allows me to be creative as a teacher and use materials that tie into our state standards without limiting me as a teacher.

I would love to know more about your schedule and your resources!

  3. Hey girl! I am so glad that you linked up with us for our very first linky party! Great post! My school is the same way as far as our math and language arts being locked in but then the rest we can figure out on our own...which is so nice! You are also so lucky to have a district that is supportive of supplemental material! I hope you can join us next month too!
