Earth Day PREPorations + a Freebie!

I am so excited to be teaming up with Aris from Sailing into Second to show you some Earth Day activities! My class has been prepping for our Earth Day Celebration by learning all kinds of new vocabulary, facts, and fun information about Earth Day using this All About the Earth Unit from Aris and my I Have, Who Has Earth Day game.

Before beginning the unit from Sailing into Second, we charted "what we know" and "what we're wondering" about Earth day. On Earth Day we will add what we learned!
Don't have time to make the chart or want your students to keep a personal record of this information? You can download this FREEBIE!
Check out this answer from one of my sweeties!
After we charted, we took a look at these vocabulary cards from Aris! They are so eye-catching and the kids loved them. I put magnet strips on the back so we could hang them on our board.
We hung them all week just like this!
Here they are up close. How cute and informative, right?!
Aris has several passages to choose from her unit. We started with this one titled, Reduce, Reuse, Recycle. Next week we will read the Earth Day passage. I chose to print them in back and white but you can choose the color option! #caaaaute!
We are going to hang one color one in the room so the students can refer back to it if needed.
After we learned so much from the All About the Earth Unit {and we still have more things to choose from next week!}, we played a game called I Have, Who Has Earth Day.
This game allows students to get repetition with vocabulary and recall of the Earth Day facts!

I also found the Top 10 Books for Earth Day from Mrs. Plemons' Kindergarten. She also has some Earth Day materials so you'll want to check those out too!
I hope these ideas were helpful for you and that you have a wonderful Earth Day with your students!
