Trick & Treats {Blog Hop}

I'm so excited to be part of the blog hop from Mrs. Plemons Kindergarten!
Today we'll be bringing you a trick that all teachers need to know and a special treat for you.

Every year I order the Scholastic Weekly Reader for my second graders. It's an awesome resource, especially now that the designers have added the Common Core Standards into the magazines and worksheets that tie into the texts.

Ready for the trick?!
I laminate both the large poster size example that Scholastic sends me as well as 3 or 4 small student magazines. This allows me to use the magazines over and over again in small groups.

Make sure the students use a dry erase marker so that you can wipe the magazines off...

Then, walah!
You're ready to go for the next student this year, next year, and for years and years to come!

Ready for the treat?!

I am marking my yearly writing pack 50% off!!!
You can get it here.

And here are a few samples from this month's pack...

  2. Thanks for sharing this tip! I had this epiphany last year, and also started including the readers in my classroom library. The kids LOVED getting to read them over and over again.
